I can’t remember a time when national parks weren’t the center of my trip planning. I’ve worked as a horseback guide in Yellowstone and Death Valley national parks—and I have a giant wall map that’s peppered with push pins showing other U.S. parks I’ve visited. But America is just the beginning—the planet is packed with stunning, protected natural spaces, made all the more incredible for their diverse environments, wildlife, and activities.
